Septic pelvic vein thrombophlebitis

(postpartum, post pelvic surgery, post abortion)

- Check for pulmonary emboli.

- Heparin therapy recommended along with antibiotics.

- Ertapenem has not been studied in this clinical setting but has appropriate coverage of organisms involved.
