Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus (hookworms)
Acquired mostly in tropical and subtropical regions.
Intestinal blood loss may occur with heavy infections.
Ivermectin NOT effective.
Symptoms
- usually asmptomatic
- may cause diarrhea and eosinophilia
- iron deficiency anemia
