Gram Stain

  • Gram negative bacilli curved, S-shaped or spiral (fastidious)

Clinical Significance

This organism is associated with diarrheal illness in immunocompromised patients.

It may be acquired from dogs and cats with gastroenteritis.

 

Usual Susceptibility Pattern

C. upsaliensis is generally susceptible to a variety of agents including macrolides and quinolones.
