Gram Stain

  • Gram negative bacilli plump, irregularly staining pairs, chains or rosettes (facultative anaerobic)

Clinical Significance

This organism may be part of the commensal flora of the human upper respiratory tract.

It is rarely isolated but has been associated with ophthalmic infections and endocarditis.

 

Usual Susceptibility Pattern

This organism is susceptible to penicillins, cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, and tetracyclines.
